2018 was a momentous year in Ducati’s history – after years of producing V-Twin superbikes, the Italian marque released an all-new lineup centered around a 1,103cc V4 producing (at minimum) 211 horsepower and 91lb-ft of torque.
The base model was impressive in its own right, but an additional six grand bought you the “S” model, which came with upgrades such as Marchesini forged aluminum wheels, Öhlins electronic suspension — consisting of NIX30 forks, a TTX36 shock, and a steering damper — minor cosmetic tweaks, and a seven pound reduction to bring curb weight down to 430 pounds.
By the time 2022 ended, it had become the most successful race year in Ducati Corse history — Francesco Bagnaia took the MotoGP championship and Alvaro Bautista did the same with WorldSBK. To celebrate this incredible achievement, Ducati released 260 special edition replicas of Bagnaia’s and Bautista’s race weapons. Each bike was adorned with identical liveries and shipped with an authenticity certificate, an assortment of dedicated technical equipment, and a packing case. Aside from a multitude of carbon fiber parts, the upgrades included a dry clutch, an Akrapovič silencer (an addition that shaved off over four pounds), Brembo Stylema R calipers, Rizoma billet aluminium adjustable footpegs, and racing plexiglass.
This example is VIN: ZDMDAGWW9RB007909. The seller acquired the bike approximately 10 months ago from AMS Ducati Dallas. He notes that “I purchased both 2022 World Championship editions last year (Pecco and Bautista). This year I was selected to purchase the two 2023 editions along with the Jorge Martin replica and Marco Bezzechi replicas. Along with those, I purchased Nicolo Bulegas 2023 World SuperSport Aruba Championship bike.”
