Streetfighter wasn’t a good enough name for Erik Buell when he debuted the 1190SX. EBR instead called it a “Superfighter”. As noted in this review on Motorcyclist, “The streetfighter classification, which was so revolutionary when we first came to market [with the 1995 S1 Lightning], is now being used by marketing people for all sorts of motorcycles, including some thinly disguised standard bikes that have detuned or obsolete powertrains,” Buell says. “Perhaps a more appropriate name, then, for a bike like our 1190SX is ‘Superfighter.’”
This is the naked sibling to the 1190RX: it showcases a 1190cc V-Twin which produces 185 horsepower and 101 pound-feet of torque, having to push around a bike that weighs 414 pounds. Buell didn’t de-tune anything – all they did was pull off the fairing and replace the clipons with an upright handlebar. That equals full power with additional comfort.
This example is VIN: 546BBAG20NL000007. The seller is the original owner and purchased the bike new directly from Buell and states, “It is in perfect condition with no flaws, defects, or issues of any kind. I have an extensive collection of vintage and modern motorcycles and I am selling them now.”
