For 1999, Honda updated the CBR600F3 to become the F4. Motorcycle.com was a fan: “It has more power, it weighs less, it comes equipped with better brakes and suspension, it’s quicker steering, less buzzy, has wider wheels and provides more feedback. This is not to say that the F3 was not a great motorcycle, it is just that the F4 surpasses the F3 in all measurable categories.” They continued on to say that “the Honda CBR600F4 is a motorcycle you can race at a national and cruise comfortably on the freeway with little more than a change in suspension and good set of tires. It certainly lived up to everyone’s expectations of being a great street bike that can haul ass around a racetrack as well.” As proven with today’s listing, they were not wrong.

The seller of this bike is our friend and partner Mark Lane, the owner of Dreamcycle and it comes out of his personal collection. “This motorcycle was built with the best parts from the five Pere Riba team Castrol Honda race bikes. It is the last remaining example and was used in displays around Europe after the 2000 race season.”

“Pere Riba’s best placing was a third in Spain.”

“The bike was then sold in 2009 to Chris Parrish, who then sold it to another gentleman, who restored the bike and had the engine redone by Tony Scott Tuning LTD UK. The engine has only been started a few times after the restoration but never ridden or raced. Tony Scott Tuning LTD was building the engines for Honda Factory Racing when this bike was raced. Tony Scotts race engines have a proven track record of winning races, see documents.”

“I then purchased the motorcycle from this gentleman and have had it on display in my museum for the past twelve years.”

This example is Engine #: PC35E-2128625, there is no frame number. The seller acquired it from a private party in England in 2010.

There is no odometer, true mileage is unknown.

Maintenance:
Fully rebuilt race engine by Tony Scott Racing UK, see documentation. It has been stored for the last 15 years in a environmentally controlled room with all fuel and battery removed. It will be sold in it’s current condition. Please note, this motorcycle requires 98 octane fuel or higher.

Per the seller, the only known mechanical issue is that the “fork seals are starting to weep, no other known issues.”

Modifications:
Per the seller, this “is a factory Castrol Honda World Supersport Team bike. It incorporates several one-off factory parts. Large radiator, carbon-kevlar bodywork, factory wiring loom, full titanium Akrapovic exhaust. This motorcycle would qualify to ride in prestigious events such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Inside of the tank:

It is riding on Michelin race slicks that have aged out.

The sale includes the factory HRC Race Kit Set-Up Manual and Parts List as well as some recipts for parts purchases.

Cosmetic Blemishes:
Mark notes “a few small marks on bodywork, small scratch on gas tank, and some slight scratches on the swingarm.” Please see the album up top for all known cosmetic blemishes.
