Ducati introduced the 800SS in 2003 – it was a smaller capacity, higher-revving version of the 900 released as a more affordable alternative to the Supersport 1000DS. Available as fully faired with agressive lines or half faired showcasing the Desmodue L-Twin engine, riders had their choice of red, yellow or metallic grey.
The powerplant delivers 74.5 HP at 8,250 rpm and 51lb-ft. of torque at 6,250 rpm. While it may not be a power-hungry beast like other models in the family, reviews noted that this bike excels in its ability to handle tight, twisting roads with precision and stability. The six-speed gearbox helps the bike pull well from 4,000-5,000rpm.
