Retro-inspired modern classics seem to be all the rage right now, but a few companies were well-ahead of the game. One of the most notable efforts was the Kawasaki ZRX1200R – Cycle World called it “a replica of a replica“, as it was designed to make you think of the iconic 1982 Eddie Lawson Replica.
It was available in silver, red, blue, and of course: Kawi Green.
The 1,164cc DOHC liquid-cooled engine produced 123 horsepower, good for a top speed of over 120 mph. It’s fun but also comfortable if you’re the kind of person that wants to ride for hours at a time.
Manufactured March 2001, this example is VIN: JKAZR9A131A007152. The seller inherited the bike one year ago.
The odometer shows 54,340 miles.
Maintenance:
The seller states, “My brother rebuilt the motor little over 3 years ago. Rode it for about a year or so before he became ill. We inherited it about a year ago, been sitting for a little under 2 years. We had our mechanic go through it and he did some maintenance. Attached is the list of things he did.”
