Released in 2004, the Thruxton was a factory cafe racer that Visor Down summed it up perfectly: “Triumph’s Thruxton is nostalgia in a bottle…”
For the first four years, the 865cc engine in the Thruxton was fed by carbs en route to producing a claimed 70 horsepower, an improvement over the Bonneville’s 61. The model stayed quite similar over the years, however, fuel injection appear in 2008 and a Special Edition model in 2010.
A year before the R was introduced, Triumph released limited edition Ace models in 2015. Named after the Ace Cafe in London, one of the world’s most popular biker hangouts, only 325 Ace editions were allocated for U.S. customers. Aside from the unique black and white paint scheme with Ace logos, buyers also got an oxblood saddle, bar end mirrors, detachable rear seat hump, and special plaque.
Manufactured November 2014, this example is VIN: SMT920K11FT687621. Engine 7689047. The seller purchased the bike from the first owner approximately four years ago out of Redding, California, and states, “It is one of the 325 Ace edition sold in the USA. I always wanted one since the time they came out. I used to live in the UK back then and it was a must have bike on my list. Time to move on.”
During his ownership, the seller has covered approximately 1,000 miles. The odometer shows 4,598 miles.
