No Reserve – Honda VFR400 NC24 Cut Away Motor Display

Honda first introduced its veritable VFR400R with the NC21 generation in 1986. In no time at all, however, the Big Red was ready to make improvements — just a year later, they debuted the NC24, which benefited from the PRO-ARM single-sided swingarm.

Like its bigger siblings, the welterweight VFR used a competition-derived aluminum twin-spar frame. A four-into-one exhaust exited on the left side of the bike, enabling easy access to the 18” rear wheel, and the suspension’s preload and rebound were both adjustable.

The 399cc V-Four engine produced a claimed 59 horsepower and was notable for the distinctive sound of the gear-driven camshafts. With all of its race-derived tech, the NC24 constantly held its own in 400cc shootouts.

The display engine was sent to Iconic from Japan. It measures 28″x21″x18″ and weighs approximately 110lbs. Per the seller, “This is an NC24 V4 400cc cutaway display engine mounted on a Parc Ferme custom painted stand. The precursor to the the NC30 and RC30 this early NC V4 400 display shows off the gear driven cams, engine internals and even the carbs.”
