Known for their strange and eccentric motorcycles, Buell Motorcycle Company was originally founded all the way back in 1983, by the man Erik Buell himself. Starting his career as a Harley-Davidson engineer, Buell soon realized the potential many of his ideas had, and split from the American-based motorcycle company to found his own – Buell Motorcycles. Unfortunately, due to financial struggles Buell Motorcycle Company had to close their doors by 2009. Not one to be deterred, Erik Buell created EBR (Erik Buell Racing) shortly after and got back to the drawing board.

Limited to just 100 units, the RS featured a powerplant that produced 175 horsepower just shy of 10,000 rpm, and it weighed less than 400 pounds wet. Highly praised, the bike was the winner of Cycle World’s ‘Best Superbike’ and Motorcyclist’s ‘Best Dreambike’. In fact, Cycle World stated, “…the EBR 1190RS is more than a machine built for homologation needs. It is not the basis for a Superbike; it is a Superbike, more like a racer than anything that has come before, including the Ducati 1098R. (Geoff May’s new racers are 1190RSs with retimed cams and thin base gaskets, and few other changes.) As such, it’s a near-perfect track-day bike for anyone who can bear the steep price tag.”
Manufactured May 2011, this example is VIN: 546AAAG2XCE000030. The seller is Geoff May, an awesome racer who actually competed on this bike against Iconic sponsored Steve Rapp (on a 1299 Panigale R) during AHRMA’s 2019 RR Barber Cup. He acquired the bike in 2012 and states, “Erik Buell gave it to me as a bonus for my performance in AMA SBK 2012 season. It was my B bike that season. Most laps led at Homestead race two in the rain. Ran a couple track days to get bike dialed in for Pirellis. 3 time AHRMA pro shootout winner. 1 time runner up.”

True mileage unknown. Geoff notes, “4 AHRMA Pro Shoot Out weekends. 3 track days.”
