Back in 2013, Ducati replaced its aging 848 with an all-new bike: the 899 Panigale. Much like its predecessors, the model was intended to be a smaller, more approachable version of the Bologna-based firm’s range-topping superbike.

In practice, this meant that the 899 shared many of its componentry with its bigger, meaner brother, the 1199. Of course, some changes had to be made to avoid cannibalizing sales. For one, the Superquadro engine made a tame-able 148 horses instead of 195. What’s more, along with using a set of Showa Big Piston forks, the 899 also traded the 1199’s single-sided swingarm for a double-sider.

However, such substitutions proved to be for the betterment of the bike. Thanks to the addition of rider-friendly tech like traction control, ABS, and EBC, the 899 quickly won its way into the hearts of testers the world over.

As Motorcycle News puts it in their review: “Like the iconic GSX-R750, the Ducati 899 Panigale offers the rev-tastic excitement of a supersport machine with just that bit more grown-up performance. It’s blindingly quick but it doesn’t have so much power that you can’t hold on to the bloody thing. It’s the ultimate trackday bike.”

Manufactured March 2014, this example is VIN: ZDM14BUW0EB019523. The seller purchased the bike 11 years ago from the original owner who had purchased the bike new from Fay Meyers Motorcycles in Denver. Per the seller, “Quite possibly the lowest mileage 899 Panigale you will find. I had a Ducati Monster, loved the sound of Termignoni pipes and decided I also needed a Panigale. Bike was up for sale with 120ish miles. I could not resist! I had a collection of motorcycles and cars and ended up riding the bike sparingly. Work travel and a significant illness subsequently derailed my riding. Bike did not move for nearly 10 years. Stored indoors. Bike very recently fully refreshed by Vanity Motorworks in Englewood, Colorado for sale.”

Maintenance:
The seller notes, “Significant recent maintenance by Vanity Motorworks in Englewood, CO, including: new fork seals, brake bleed front and rear, clutch bleed, new rear brake pads, new tires, new fuel pump and filter, fuel tank replacement (stored with fuel), new spark plugs, new air filter, oil change, new battery.”
Modifications:
“Original owner made a few modifications: added tinted front windscreen (original clear windscreen included in sale), new titanium Termignoni exhaust (original exhaust included in sale), a few carbon fiber bits.”

It is riding on Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa IV tires with date codes of 0524 and 4224.

The sale includes two keys, owner’s manual, tool kit, stock exhaust, air filter, windshield, and heal guards.
