If you’re not familiar with this monster motard, here’s the short version: in the spring of 2005, Ducati designer Pierre Terblanche pitched management on an extreme street fighter — street performance in a new aesthetic package. The concept bike debuted that fall in Milan. Based on the hugely positive reaction the bike received from motorcyclists around the world, company president Federico Minoli green-lit the project immediately. It has been one of Ducati’s most popular bikes since due to its torque and agility.

In 2013, Ducati debuted a new Hypermotard around the liquid-cooled 821cc V-Twin. The Italian firm had three versions – the base Hypermotard, the HyperStrada (a touring variant that was positioned as a smaller Multistrada), and the Hypermotard SP – the track-oriented high performance halo bike.

Thanks to the liquid cooling, major service intervals were extended to 18,000 miles. But where the SP really stood out was in its upgrades over the base bike – upgraded suspension, wheels, and brakes.

In addition, Ducati spiffed up the cosmetics with black handlebars/triples, black adjustable levers, a carbon fiber front fender, carbon fiber belt covers, and a model-specific paint job.

Manufactured in April 2013 this example is VIN: ZDM1YBTS6DB002341. The seller purchased the bike about three years ago. He states “this Ducati was originally purchased in the Seattle, Washington area from its first and only prior owner—a passionate motorsports enthusiast deeply involved in vintage BMW racing and motorcycle collecting. As a connoisseur of fine bikes, he spared no expense outfitting this Ducati with nearly every factory carbon fiber component available, along with numerous tasteful and performance-driven upgrades. Notable enhancements include a full titanium exhaust system, a quick shifter, and traction control—especially useful for navigating the Pacific Northwest’s wet roads. This motorcycle was clearly a labor of love, and its pristine condition speaks volumes about the meticulous care and attention it received throughout his ownership. Eventually, the original owner decided to part ways with the bike, saying he had thoroughly enjoyed it but felt it was time to hang up his helmet. The bike was then professionally shipped to me in Phoenix, Arizona, with a clean and clear title still in hand. As a lifelong admirer of Ducati, this was my very first — and it was a dream come true. I have continued the tradition of caring for it with the same dedication and respect. Unfortunately, life has become too busy, and the bike no longer gets ridden as often as it deserves. I’m now looking to pass this exceptional machine on to someone who will appreciate it as much as I and the original owner have — a true enthusiast who will continue its legacy of passion and performance.”

The odometer shows 6,050 miles. The seller has covered approximately 750 miles during his ownership.
