The Honda VTR250 started life as a full fairing bike sold only in the US and Canada from 1988 to 1990. The next iteration of the VTR250 evolved into a naked machine that was produced between 1997 and 2018. It was almost exclusively sold in Japan, but in 2009 Honda also offered it in Europe.
It featured a 90 degree V-twin liquid cooled 249cc engine with 4 valves per cylinder which was good for roughly 30 horsepower – more than enough considering the dry weight is just 306 pounds. In 2009, this model received electronic fuel injection as well as a redesigned rear end and midsection.
With the trellis frame, V-Twin engine, and modern touches, some people think that the VTR is a little homage to the Ducati Monster!
