Introduced in July 2007 for the 2008 model year, the 1125R was Buell’s sportbike foray with a Rotax 1,125cc V-Twin engine that produced a claim 146 horsepower.

In addition to moving away from Harley-Davidson Sportster engines, the 1125R had several features that were relatively rare at the time – fuel in frame, eight-piston front caliper on a perimeter rotor, belt final drive, and an under-engine exhaust.

One of the most distinctive features is the ZTL2 (Zero Torsional Load) front brake system, which features a gigantic 375mm disc and 8-piston calipers.

This example is VIN: 4MZHL04D193B00531. The seller purchased it in 2022 from the second owner. “I’m a Buell enthusiast and the 1125R in Arctic White/Hero Blue was one on my dream bikes. I finally found one in good condition, had the motor, exhaust and ECM upgraded, and was all ready to ride until a medical issue occurred that required me to stop riding for at least a year. So I’m selling the bike to use the funds for other projects.”

During his ownership, the seller covered five miles. The odometer shows 4,318 miles.

Maintenance:
“All fluids were recently changed.” The seller states that there are no known mechanical issues.
Modifications:
The seller states: “The 1,125cc DOHC V-twin that has been upgraded to Daytona Sport Bike “DSB” by a well know Buell racer in Ohio. Original motor failed a cam bearing at just over 4,300 miles and a 2008 vintage replacement motor with approx. 10,000 miles was disassembled and upgraded to DSB specs. The 2008 motor has the desirable stator cooling modifications. All fluids were changed when the motor was upgraded, and a Drummer exhaust and IDS engine controller with the correct map were installed.”
It is riding on Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tires with date codes of 3218 and 3418.
