Introduced as the “Black Bomber” in 1968, the CB450 K0 was Honda’s first large displacement motorcycle – they called it a “heavyweight” in their introductory advertisements. The K1 got a dramatic restyle that kept the large chrome tank panels, but it wasn’t until the K2 that Honda debuted the styling that stayed mostly consistent through the rest of the CB450 model lineup.

In 1970, the K3 model was revised with a 19″ front wheel, front disk brake, megaphone exhaust, larger tail light, and several other minor cosmetic changes. It would remain mostly the same through 1972.

In the words of Oscar Wilde: “There’s only one thing worse than being talked about; and that’s not being talked about!” And in the biking world a similar mindset can apply. When a motorcycle is almost immediately banned from competition by the sport’s governing body you can bet your last wipe of valve grinding paste the bike in question is something special. And so it proved to be.

This example is VIN: CB4507005759. The seller acquired the bike about 18 months ago from an estate collection.

The odometer shows 10,429 miles however the odometer may have been swapped during the restoration and therefore true mileage is unknown. The seller has covered approximately 50 miles during his ownership.
