Introduced in 1987, the BMW K75S was the sportiest version of BMW’s three cylinder K series and is now remembered as one of the smoothest and most durable motorcycles the brand ever built. The 740cc inline triple shared much of its design with the K100 four, using a longitudinal layout with shaft drive and Bosch fuel injection. It produced 75 horsepower and a broad spread of torque.

The S model featured a frame mounted half fairing, stiffer suspension, a 17 inch rear wheel, and triple Brembo disc brakes. The shorter, firmer fork and revised damping gave it sharper handling than the touring oriented K75C and K75T, while still maintaining excellent stability and comfort on long rides. At around 500 pounds wet and capable of covering roughly 200 miles per tank, the K75S offered a blend of performance and practicality ideal for real world sport touring.

The K75S earned a reputation for near bulletproof reliability. Engines regularly exceed 100,000 miles without internal work. With shaft drive, aluminum gas tank, and car derived electronic fuel injection, it was built to last. Decades later, it remains a benchmark of BMW engineering. Refined, reliable, and built for the kind of riding where comfort, composure, and durability matter most.
