Please Note: The proceeds of this sale are going to VetRides. “A charitable group based in Virginia that fixes up motorcycles and gives them to a Veteran in need of some two wheel therapy.”
The first generation – this is the bike that started the CBR line in the US. It was quick enough to compete in 600cc racing, but user friendly enough to still enjoy on the street during the week.

When it first came out, it was quite an improvement on the competition – Kawasaki’s GPZ600 (arguably the class leader at the time) was 28 pounds heavier and down 12 horsepower. This was the first 600cc sport bike capable of a sub 11 second quarter mile.

This example is VIN: JH2PC1915KM200740.

The odometer shows 8,349 miles.

“The customer is the original owner. He rode it for about 8,000 miles and then parked it in his garage due to family obligations. The bike sat in his garage for about 10 or 12 years. He did empty and prep the tank, but he did not prep the carbs. About 6 months ago, he donated this bike to a charity that we work with (VetRides). So, we fixed it up, got it running great and cleaned her up a bit. Most the paint is original except for the tank. There was a small dent on the tank so I had my restoration guy pull the dent and repaint the tank. (it looks amazing). After cleaning the bike and getting her running right, I have put about 200 miles on her riding her around Northern Virginia’s back country roads and riding her to work. She runs like a beast, and she is a real head turner. We are selling this bike to raise money for the Vet Rides Charity.”
