The Chief was one of Indian’s most popular models, and its first run of production lasted over 31 years.

The Chief utilized Indian’s 74ci “Powerplus” engine, and the bike featured rear suspension (which their rival Harley wouldn’t utilize on their Big Twins for another decade).
