In 2010, Victory Motorcycles (RIP) partnered up with Roland Sands to create a custom based on their Hammer cruiser that could reach the milestone of 200 miles per hour.

Roland tells the story here on his website as well as through this video:
Highlights of the initial work included modifying the riding position with clipons/rearsets, converting to chain final drive (for easier gearing changes), modifying the tank to allow for the rider to tuck his helmet partially inside, and repurposing one of Roland’s Yamaha TZ250 fairings from the days when he won an AMA 250 GP championship.

With a basically stock motor, Roland was able to hit 147 miles per hour – so the next step was to add a turbocharger in the quest for 200 mph at the Maxton Mile. The engine work was done by Lloyd Greer of Lloyd’z Motor Works, who stated “we totaled over 320 hours to this build and just about all the components used are one off items do to the nature of the build and the fact that it was an 2011 bike for which some parts have been changed since 2010. Once the bike was running we found that a new style rings we used was causing oil to pull through the ring package under decel so we had to do another tear down and repair the issue in less then a day. Back running it only took us 2 days to tune the bike with only 1 minor issue that occurred. With a build of this caliber I was counting on 2 weeks of tuning so when we were able to wrap it up so soon we were all extremely happy.” They were able to get an impressive 214 hp and 243 foot-pounds of torque:
The bike was built to compete for a MPS (Modified Partial Streamlining) record and the team was able to hit 184.9 mph the first day out. In the quest for more on day 2, RSD added some nitrous but unfortunately a piston blew 1/4 of a mile from the timing gates – the bike coasted for the final quarter of a mile and clocked in at 185.5 mph on that last run. They weren’t able to claim 200 but they did earn the title of “World’s Fastest Victory.”

Manufactured in April of 2010, this example is VIN: 5VPGA36N6B3004959.

The bike is True Mileage Unknown.
