KTM introduced the 500 EXC in 2012 and it instantly dominated the market. As Cycle News put it, “the 2012 KTM 500 EXC was a godsend for hard-core off-roaders looking for an honest to goodness street-legal dirt bike that worked like it should right off the showroom floor.” The first significant update came in 2014, where KTM gave it new plastics, a redesigned airbox, and revised fuel mapping.

Cycle News continues: “Yet, as good as it is on the trail, the KTM is remarkably comfortable on the tarmac.” And that’s why the big-bore EXC has become a popular platform for supermoto conversions like what we’re featuring today.

Per the seller, this was “professionally built to be a street-legal competition spec supermoto. 160 soft hours and about 2400miles. Valve checked and adjusted 200 miles ago, and the bike needs NOTHING and is my pride and joy. If you build one like this, YOU WILL SPEND DOUBLE! A true dual sport with the KTM 500cc race engine (about 70hp at the wheel).”

Manufactured in February of 2014, this example is VIN: VBKEXP407EM492805. The seller purchased this bike six years ago from “a good friend of mine, a military guy, resides in Chicago, IL.”

During his ownership, the seller has covered 600 miles. The odometer was swapped with a Trail Tech Vapor and shows 14.2 miles. “The stock odometer when removed showed around 2500 miles and is included with the sale.”

“Not very good at document papers, and I am very mechanically inclined and did routine maintenance as well as valve check and adjustment by myself.” The seller states that there are no known mechanical issues.
