Please Note: When a previous owner got a California title for this bike, they installed an odometer showing higher mileage because of California’s 7,500 mile exemption for emissions. The original odometer was then swapped back on but per the VIN Report, the California title states 71,779 miles.
Honda was ahead of its time when it debuted the Hawk GT, also known as the NT650. It was one of the world’s first modern naked bikes but it was a commercial failure. Over the years, many riders have realized what the Hawk offered, and it’s become a cult classic.

Honda advertised the Hawk as “a thoughtful blend of European styling, American V-Twin muscle, and a Honda trademark – technological sophistication.” That makes sense nowadays in a world full of SV650s and Ducati Monsters, but when this bike was released American riders wanted power and they wanted fairings – a 600 Hurricane had 30 more horsepower and all the plastic bodywork one could want for just $400 more than the Hawk’s $3,598 MSRP.

For more on the Hawk, check out this article on Canyon Chasers where they call it one of their favorite motorcycles of all time. “Sometimes the sum is greater than the whole and that has never been truer than with the Hawk.”

Manufactured in September 1988, this example is VIN: JH2RC3108KM100901. The seller states “I bought the bike in November from a friend and long time Hawk collector, he sold his entire collection of bikes and parts, some I have kept for myself and this is one of the bikes I am letting go of, out of the 4 complete bikes this was the nicest low mile Hawk.”

The odometer shows 6,167 miles, however true mileage is unknown. The seller states “I have put about 10 miles on the bike giving it a short test ride after installing a new battery, cleaning the carbs and replacing the front and rear brake fluid at the end of December.”

Modifications:
The seller states “It has CBR F2 fork internals, a WP rear shock, braided lines and a six piston caliper up front to help out with braking duties. The Laser exhaust is quite rare and sounds great while not being obnoxious. It has a rare Honda tank protector, aftermarket grips, bar ends and some various anodized hardware scattered about. It is also sporting VFR footpegs and the rear subframe has been cleaned up with the pax pegs and turn signals removed along with a quick disconnect cable for the rear seat. The rear turn signals have been integrated into the brake light but are not super bright so another pair of aftermarket indicators are included along with a Targa removable upper cowl, and a service manual. The original tool kit and owners manual are under the seat. Despite the gauge swap and stated mileage, one look at the bike and you can tell it is a very clean low mile survivor with all the right mods!””
Braided brake lines, Vortex rear sprocket.

Aftermarket front turn signals, aftermarket mirrors.

Rizoma levers, ProGrip Superbike grips, aftermarket bar ends, Vortex master cylinder reservoir cover.

The rear turn signals have been removed but aftermarket units are included.

It is riding on Dunlop D205 tires with date codes of 2003 and 3504.

The sale includes one key, a Targa front fairing with smoked windscreen, spare speedometer/odometer, aftermarket turn signals, and a copy of the factory service manual.
