In 1969, Honda released one of the most important motorcycles that would ever be sold in America – the Trail 70 (also known as the CT70). It was the first motorcycle for many of today’s riders, and nowadays it serves double duty as an excellent entrée into motorcycling as well as a lovely reminder of times gone by.

Powered by a 72cc four stroke engine, its lightweight design, folding handlebars, and compact frame allow for easy transportation and storage, while its step-through design and low seat height provide a comfortable and unintimidating riding experience. The CT70 remains an iconic symbol of fun and adventure, while still embodying Honda’s dedication to reliability and quality.

In the US, the CT70 was sold from 1969-1982, and again from 1991-1994. Very few changes were made over the years, though by 1978 Honda started to swap out some of the usual chrome parts for black plastic ones. By 1980, the mirrors, chain guard, and fenders were all plastic – and the traditional chrome “folding” handlebars had been swapped out for BMX style handlebars as well.

This example is VIN: CT70-246713. The seller acquired it in Monterey from a private seller.

During their ownership, the seller has covered approximately 200 miles. The five digit odometer was reset as part of the refurbishment, and it shows under two miles.

Maintenance:
The seller states: “The hollow T-bone frame was refinished in Candy Gold with Honda decals as part of the refurbishment. The black vinyl upholstered seat is brand new. The factory air-cooled 72cc four-stroke single was just completed with a complete rebuild to a 108cc build, with a TBParts Vintage Honda 108cc Stroker big bore & 24mm Carb kit. This entire bike has been gone through and has all new wiring and electrical components and cables.”
