2026-05-22 13:50:00 2026-05-22 14:00:00 America/Los_Angeles 2006 Harley-Davidson Sportster w/ Storz Kit Norwalk, Wisconsin - Built with an extensive Storz Performance XR style conversion and a heavily modified S&S built 1250 motor, this Sportster trades cruiser roots for lightweight flat track attitude and brutally raw performance. https://iconicmotorbikeauctions.com/auction/2006-harley-davidson-custom-street-tracker/ Iconic Motorbike Auctions concierge@iconicmotorbikes.com

After three years as a mechanic for Harley-Davidson’s factory dirt rack team, Steve Storz started a company to supply tuning services and parts for AMA racers trying to win on Harley’s legendary XR750. He succeeded by creating precise high-performance parts that held up in demanding situations: “Racing does not tolerate the imprecise nor does it reward those who place style before function. The work ethic of racing is woven into everything we produce here at Storz Performance. It’s not enough for a part to look good, it must also work well.

25 years into Storz Performance, the company created a XR-style conversion kit for the 2004+ Sportster with the rubber mounted engine. In addition to the cosmetic upgrades, the finished product shaved an impressive 83 pounds off the original dry weight of 557 pounds.

The comprehensive kit includes a hand-formed alloy gas tank, fiberglass seat with Saddlemen pad, chrome Storz XR-style high exhaust with BUB chrome heat shields, 18″ alloy rims with Buchanan stainless spokes, Metzeler tires, Storz rearset footpeg kit, Galfer wave rotors on special Storz floating centers, Flanders cafe bars, Performance Machine brake calipers, chain drive conversion, Dakota digital gauges, and Storz/Ceriani 55mm inverted forks. Each part of the kit can be ordered individually, and many of them are on this stylish example (which also got plenty of motor work).

This example is VIN: 1HD4CAM186K411966. The seller acquired it from an engineer at S&S in 2019 when he was an intern working at S&S’s Design Engineering Department.

During his ownership, the seller has covered roughly 5,000 miles. The odometer shows 15,129 miles. Because of the odometer swap we are calling the bike True Mileage Unknown.

I am a mechanical engineer by trade and during the summer of 2019 I had the opportunity to work for S&S Cycle in their design engineering department as an intern. While working there I met David Laudermilch, one of their technicians/engine builders who had the bike and was looking to sell it so I picked it up from him. He actually built the current engine in the bike and I haven’t done anything more to it besides a clutch, tires, and general maintenance. The bike has always been great for blasting back and forth to work and tearing up back roads but I never took it on any long trips or anything. It’s quite the handful to ride and not the most comfortable for longer runs. I am selling it because I just don’t ride it much anymore. I have another bike that my wife and I ride so usually when I am riding its with her. I was really in love with the bike for quite a few years but my priorities are elsewhere now. Overall, the bike is in really good shape. It is an absolute monster to ride and turns a lot of heads because people usually don’t know what it is.”

Details of the build will be highlighted below but S&S used to have a blog page dedicated to the build, which you can see here courtesy of the WayBack Machine.

Maintenance:
Oil changes every year (Mobil 1 w/ K&N Filters)
Avon AV71/72 tires (Only a few thousand miles on them).
Barnett Extra Clutch Plate Kit (old one went out). Changed the primary fluid with the new clutch.
Routine chain maintenance (Cleaned, oiled, and tensioned)

I have documentation for basically the entire build of the motorcycle and years of maintenance after. I can provide all of these documents.

Mechanical Issues:
No major mechanical issues. The only little things that come to mind are the battery is getting a little weak and the starter button likes to stick every once in a while.”
