Please note: The seller wishes to point out that the rag seen in the video was being used as a precaution to protect the chrome finish on the kickstarter and is not there because of any kind of fluid leak.
Predating the legendary Honda Elsinore’s US debut by only a matter of weeks in ’73, Honda’s XR75 was a pint-sized version of its then all-new off-roader lineup. Despite being sized for youngsters, the XR was a popular machine for all ages.

Paired with the 72cc mill was a close-ratio four-speed tranny with straight-cut gears; housing the engine was an all-new single-downtube chassis. Fitted to the front of the frame was a set of non-adjustable telescopic forks and despite its short wheelbase and lack of adjustability, the XR was praised for its surprisingly on-point handling. The ’74 model was adorned in the same “Rubber Gray Metallic” as the first model year, though the decals changed from red to yellow and the fuel tank design was modernized. For more info on the XR75 and year by year differences, check out this breakdown.

This example is VIN: XR751109276. The VIN is hard to read on the frame.

There is no odometer, true mileage is unknown. During his ownership, the seller has not ridden it and only used it as a display/show bike.

“Bought it from original owner in 2011 at El Camino College motorcycle swap meet. Full ground up restoration in 2014, every nut and bolt to factory OEM specification. Motor completely rebuilt. Bike’s appearance speaks for itself. Performance of bike is top notch, fresh motor, like a brand new XR75 rolling off the showroom floor from 1974. Its been to shows and won awards over the 15 years of owning it. Always stored in garage covered and routinely cleaned, waxed, and occasionally started and ran motor at shows when needed. Otherwise tank has been dry and carb as well when not being showed and stored at home in garage. Downsizing collection, ready to let someone enjoy it.”

Maintenance:
The seller states: “The last complete service and tune up was done on 4/12/26, by a certified Honda Mechanic. The valves were adjusted, cam chain adjusted, ignition timing set, and the carburetor was cleaned, rebuilt, and adjusted. It also had an oil change using Honda GN-4 10w40. (Oil changes have been done regularly every 6 months since restoration).”
