Sharing several parallels with the Ducati Multistrada, the Benelli Tre-K was a street-oriented touring bike that as long as you don’t mind having almost non-existent dealer support, a modern Benelli offers an incredible riding experience in a package that makes Ducatis seem run of the mill. While most people think of sport bikes or naked superbikes like the Tornado or TnT, some journalists (like Michael Neeves with MCN) thought the Tre-K, a street-oriented tourer that’s similar to a Multistrada – to be the best new Benelli yet.

Like the Multi, the TRE K is a street-oriented adventure bike, though this is one of the “Amazonas” variants that adds spoked-wheels (with a larger 19″ wheel up front) and wave brake rotors for a slightly more off-road friendly version. It’s one of the more attractive dual-sport packages from the time, and it’ll stand out at a bike night!

The 1,130cc triple is the same motor as found in the Cafe Racer, Tornado, and TnT though it’s been tuned for more of a mid range hit. It’ll still sound glorious. The bike features Excel rims, Brembo brakes, Marzocchi forks, and an Extreme Tech rear shock. For more on the TRE K (base model, not Amazonas), check out this comparison with a Tiger here on Motorcycle.com.

The engine produces 123 horsepower and 85 pound feet of torque, and Neeves said it was “10 times more exciting” than the powerplant in the 1100 Multistrada. In addition to the exclusivity factor, this bike was supposedly a “practical, user friendly motorcycle brought to life by a huge injection of Italian charm, speed, and handling.” Quite a lot of praise then.

This example is VIN: ZBNTNTRA98P100011. The seller acquired it eight months ago from a dealership in Arizona through a Bring a Trailer auction. There is also a previous auction of the bike available here when it was sold with 16 miles.

During his ownership, the seller covered roughly 160 miles. The odometer shows 289 miles.

It is US and California emissions compliant.

Seller states: “This is 1 of 5 Benelli Tre-k 1130’s imported into the US. In my opinion its the Bimota of Adventure bikes. Its raw and noisy, but the 3 cylinder motor sounds like a F1 motor and the gearbox is slick as can be. It looks like nothing else out there. I sold my 2025 Multistrada V4 and decided I would ride this. The long travel suspension I figured would be good for high speed off road driving. Service parts are readily available in the US and everything else you can get from Manic Motors in Germany, as well as performance parts. They have a lowering kit as well.”

Maintenance:
Seller states: “As soon as I bought the bike I had it shipped to Iconic Motorbikes for a full inspection. The previous owner bought it on BAT and got in a bit of a bidding war for it. It had 14 miles. He changed the tires. Installed the better steel Benelli mirrors and installed the factory touring bags and mounts. I think the bike had such low miles because it had a hard starting issue when warm, which turned out to be a service recall R25 to replace the alternator shaft and bushing, which Iconic did. I changed the oil, filter, coolant, hydraulic fluids, battery, etc. I had a complete detail done on the bike as well. I have all the documentation. The bike is “as new”.

Modifications:
Not pictured: lithium battery.

Touring kit.

Upgraded Benelli mirrors.

Inside of the tank:

It is riding on Michelin Anakee tires with date codes of 1723 and 1823.

The sale includes 3 ignition keys, owners manual, side cases and service invoices plus other docs.

Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album in the “Photos” tab for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:
There are two minor defects on the tank, otherwise the bike is pretty much perfect.”

Currently located in Los Angeles, California, this Benelli is offered on a clean Montana title.
