Please Note: The VINData Report for this bike notes that there is an open recall for the fuel pump.

In 2004, Honda released the first full liter-sized model in the CBR double-R range when they replaced the 954RR with the 1000RR. Designed by a team led by Kunitaki Hara, the 1KRR was an all-new model, not sharing any components with the outgoing model. Though it was powered by an inline-four and not a V5, many parts of the first CBR1KRR were based on Honda’s RC211V MotoGP racer, the bike Valentino Rossi used to secure back-to-back world titles.

In 2008, Honda revamped the bike for the ninth generation of the RR (SC59). It got an all-new 999cc inline-four engine with a 13,000 rpm redline, featuring lighter pistons, titanium valves, and a slipper clutch. The new engine was an impressive 5.5 pounds lighter than the outgoing unit, and it produced 175 horsepower at the crank.

In fact, Honda was able to shave 17 pounds in total compared to the 2007 bike, helping the company claim the best power-to-weight ratio in the class at the time. Other updates included a revised electronic steering damper, lighter wheels, Tokico monobloc front calipers, and a new side exhaust to help with mass centralization.

Manufactured in March 2008, this example is VIN: JH2SC590X8M009672. The seller acquired it from a private party a few months ago.

The odometer shows 7 miles.

I purchased the motorcycle from the estate of a longtime Honda enthusiast and collector. The previous owner kept the bike as part of a private collection, and it was always stored indoors and meticulously cared for.

This is an exceptionally well-preserved, collector-owned 2008 Honda CBR finished in the factory silver/red color scheme. The motorcycle has been garage kept throughout its life and presents in outstanding condition. The premium Öhlins suspension and Power Commander are tasteful, high-quality upgrades that complement the motorcycle without changing its character. It is an excellent opportunity to own a clean, collector-grade example of an increasingly sought-after model.”

Maintenance:
The motorcycle has been inspected, starts, runs, and rides well. I have not performed any major maintenance during my ownership due to the extremely limited use. It has been kept indoors and carefully preserved. There are no known mechanical issues. The motorcycle starts, idles, and runs properly.”

Modifications:
Öhlins forks.
