The MV Agusta F4 is often considered one of the most beautiful motorcycles ever built, and throughout its impressive production run the model was occasionally offered with limited edition upgrade kits under the Special Parts or SP moniker. The Viper kit was the rarest (50 examples) and most expensive ($18,000 for the kit alone in 2002, on top of the purchase price of the bike), and its “Special Parts” code was SP01 – did you see that Iconic recently sold one? All of MV’s Special Parts were available through a limited catalog, and on one of the pages you’ll find a small desk model of the Viper as well as the subject of this auction, a “Mini Moto MV Agusta F4 SP01 Replica”:

Information on these is difficult to find, however per an Artcurial auction in 2019 it appears that a company named Paventa was working with Massimo Tamburini to build a small run of minibikes inspired by his legendary F4 design, noting that “the death of the famous engineer in 2014 marked the end of this project.” The example Artcurial sold had a different brake setup and was claimed to be a prototype for what ended up being sold through the MV Agusta Special Parts catalog.

It features a Polini 50cc 2-stroke engine and Polini cable brakes.

The mini bike accurately captures the styling and livery of the Viper, and you’ve got to love the quad exhaust!

There is no odometer, true mileage is unknown. We believe that they only time it has been ridden was for the video shown at the top of this listing.

This bike was previously in a museum in Australia, the owner noted that it had never been ridden but was “started periodically.”
