In 2018, MV Agusta unveiled a concept for a new machine called the Superveloce. It was based on the F3 800 but with styling inspired by their 70s racers. The resulting machine won “Most Beautiful Bike of the Show” at EICMA 2018. A year later, the Italian firm announced that the Superveloce was going into production, calling it “a modern interpretation of the iconic stylistic concept of the MV Agusta. A fusion of vintage and contemporary ensures that the future incorporates the memories of good times gone by.”

And here’s the thing: the bike has shown itself to be much more than a mere looker. Between the 54.3-inch wheelbase, the 381-pound dry weight, and the 148hp 800cc triple, the Superveloce is both nimble through the turns as well as powerful on the straights. Come 2021, MV announced that it would be releasing a limited run of Ago edition Superveloces as it had in the past with the F4 and the F3. Numbering just 311 examples in total (an homage to the victories Giacomo “Mino” Agostini racked up while riding for the Italian marque), each bike boasted a vibrant GP-inspired livery and a number of performance upgrades. In celebration of Agostini’s accomplishments, MV Agusta placed his signature on the tank.

For the suspension, MV Agusta ditched the stock units in favor of some fully electronic 43mm Öhlins NIX forks and a gas-charged Öhlins TTX shock. Additionally, the Superveloce Ago got treated to a new six-axis inertial platform responsible for managing Continental MK 100 ABS, traction control, wheelie control, and launch control. But that’s not all; elsewhere, MV Agusta installed a slew of trick parts. The bodywork — including the fairing side panels, front and rear fenders, and chain guard — were all made from carbon fiber, while the upper triple, the shift pedal, and the rear brake pedal were all machined from billet aluminum. Rounding out the package was an Alcantara seat and a set of wire wheels meant to emulate those found on Agostini’s spoked racers from the 70s.

This example is VIN: ZCGDNX3C4NV001684.

The odometer shows 1 mile.
