BMW’s was able to sell 36,008 units of their incredibly-popular R12 between 1935 and 1942, a sign of the beautiful Art Deco styling, reliability, and performance.
The 736cc side-valve boxer twin produced 18 horsepower, and it was the first bike in the world (alongside its rarer sibling R17) to have hydraulically damped telescoping forks.
