2026-09-25 11:50:00 2026-09-25 12:00:00 America/Los_Angeles 2007 Buell XBRR Racine, Wisconsin - An exceptionally rare piece of Buell racing history, The XBRR was built to homologate Buell’s entry into AMA Formula Xtreme, packing a 1,339cc V-twin into a purpose built race package, and limited to roughly 50 examples. https://iconicmotorbikeauctions.com/auction/2007-buell-xbrr/ Iconic Motorbike Auctions concierge@iconicmotorbikes.com

Please note: This is a race bike in storage condition. Therefore there is no cold start video. The seller states: “The bike has been in a collection for 20 years and not run. As it is strictly a race bike you can’t start it easily. Must be push started or have a starting wheel to apply to the raised rear wheel”

The Buell XBRR was Erik Buell’s factory-built effort at taking care of privateer racers, and it was specifically designed to compete in the AMA Formula Xtreme class. This might surprise you as FX was normally for modified 600cc bikes, and the XBRR uses a 1339cc Thunderstorm V-Twin.

But considering it was the first year of competition with this bike, the AMA thought the Buell would be most competitive in this class.

The giant Thunderstorm produced 150 horsepower and it was paired with magnesium wheels, Ohlins suspension, and eight-piston brakes built by Nissin.

Buell had to produce 50 examples for homologation purposes, (we’ve heard that maybe 56 were built in total).

Manufactured in May 2006, this example is VIN: A2LGXO5DJ73090040. The seller is the original owner.

The seller has not ridden the bike during his ownership. He states that it has “sat in a private collection since new.” There is no odometer, therefore officially it is ‘True Mileage Unknown’. However the bike’s single owner history means it is known to be a zero mile bike.

Maintenance:

“The papers show the left the factory on October 27th 2006 and had a PDI performed on November 2nd 2006. The bike was immediately put in in a dry climate controlled office and covered and did not see the light of day again until I took it out for the pic’s. Almost 20 years to the day!

The bike was ran for 30 seconds during the PDI with a fan blowing on the engine and a small amount 100 octane aviation fuel and drained afterwards.
This was done to insure mechanical integrity. It has not ran since November 2nd 2006.”

PDI from the dealership November 2006.”

Modifications:
The seller states that this bike is stock.

Inside of the tank:

It is riding on the original Pirelli Superbike slicks which have aged out.

The sale includes two keys, an OEM seat pad, and a Woodcraft paddock stand.
