When Ducati introduced the Multistrada, it deliberately blurred the lines between sport bike, tourer, and dual sport. The 1100S variant, the final and most refined version of the air cooled generation, embodied that “many roads” philosophy with unmistakable Ducati character. It shared DNA with the 1000DS but received a host of improvements, including Öhlins suspension, carbon fiber trim, and subtle updates that made it a more complete and confident all rounder.

At its heart was Ducati’s 1,078cc twin, producing a claimed 95 horsepower and 76 ft-lbs of torque. The engine’s broad, linear power delivery, combined with the bike’s trellis frame and aluminum single sided swingarm, made it equally happy carving canyons or cruising long distances. Riders praised its commanding ergonomics, excellent ground clearance, and the playful torque that could lift the front wheel almost at will.

The 1100S wasn’t an adventure bike in the GS or KTM sense, but that was never the point. Its versatility came from its balance. Upright comfort without sacrificing agility, real world torque without excess weight, and high end Öhlins components that gave it superb handling on pavement. It was a bike that looked unusual, felt unique, and rode beautifully. The last and best of Ducati’s air cooled Multistradas before the model evolved into something altogether different.

This example is VIN: ZDM1VACPX9B022369. The seller acquired it three years ago from a private party in Pennsylvania.

During his ownership, the seller has covered 1,500 miles. The odometer shows 13,856 miles.

“I am selling it because I don’t use it enough! I want to find an R100GS to go with my R100S. I believe I’ll use something that can tackle dirt roads far more often. It’s absolutely lovely and in really remarkable condition. It’s an amazing bike, but it doesn’t suit my needs as I’m surrounded by dirt roads, which it does not love. There’s a small sticker of a rabbit on the front fairing. My daughter placed it there to keep me safe. It’ll be removed upon sale of the bike.”
Maintenance:
“– Battery
– High-capacity wires
– Starter
– Oil changes every spring and winter
I have documentation of all of this. Before I owned it, the belts were replaced and the valves adjusted at 10,000 miles. I can try to get documentation from the servicing shop in Akron, Ohio.”
Mechanical Issues:
“None. It’s mechanically superb.”
Modifications:
Termignoni exhaust.

SpeedyMoto frame sliders, aftermarket axle sliders.

It is riding on Pirelli Angel GT II tires with date codes of 2221 and 1722.
