1913 marked the second year of production for the Henderson Four – it was the first year for the new “square tank” look after the “torpedo tank” of 1912. This was one of the first 4-cylinder motorcycles ever produced and was widely regarded as one of the most advanced motorcycles of its time, establishing Henderson as a major player in the industry alongside Harley-Davidson and Indian. The 934cc engine was good for 7 horsepower.
The long wheelbase provided excellent stability, making it a popular choice for delivery companies and police departments. It was also the steed of choice for Carl Stearns Clancy, who became the first person to circumnavigate the globe on a motorcycle on a trip that covered 18,000 miles and did wonders for Henderson’s reputation.

This bike features an older restoration with hand-rubbed acrylic enamel paint, timing of the work is unknown. This has several period accessories including acetylene lights, speedometer with gear drive, and a passenger seat with handlebar.
