The Chief was one of Indian’s most popular models, and its first run of production lasted over 31 years. 1923 was the first year for Indian’s optional 74 cubic inch engine (which is equipped in this offering).

For 1926, Indian updated the Chief with a new fame, stronger rear axle, and an improved clutch.

This example is VIN: AH211. The seller acquired it through a Mecum auction in 2021.

The odometer shows 24,834 miles.

The bike was restored in the late 60s/early 70s and was repainted sometime between 2015-2021. It spent some time as part of the collection at Cycle Warehouse.
