Zundapp had tremendous success in the 30s with the K series of bikes, the smallest of which was 200cc, and the largest of which was the Zundapp K800 which featured exquisite styling details like the valve covers and exhaust. K stood for Kardanantrieb, German for “Enclosed Driveshaft”. Said driveshaft took power from the distinctive 797cc boxer four engine that produced 26 horsepower, enough for a top speed of around 75 miles per hour.
The K800 was offered between 1933 and 1940, featuring telescopic front forks, plunger rear suspension, and a 4-speed transmission with a foot clutch and hand-operated gear shifter.
This example is VIN: 140326. The seller acquired it from the MC Collection of Stockholm via a Mecum auction in 2019.
The odometer shows 30 kilometers (18 miles) after a restoration.
