BMW’s was able to sell an impressive 36,008 units of their incredibly-popular R12 between 1935 and 1942 – a testament to the beautiful Art Deco styling, reliability, and performance.

The 736cc side-valve boxer twin produced 18 horsepower, and it was the first bike in the world (alongside its rarer sibling R17) to have hydraulically damped telescoping forks.

This example is VIN: 11293, Engine #: 13151. The seller acquired it in January 2024.

The odometer shows 6 kilometers (4 miles) after a restoration by Hubert Fehrenbach of Germany.
