Additional photos of this are available here for your perusal.

Royal Enfield first introduced the Fury to the American market in 1959 in an effort to compete against the BSA Gold Star and the Velocette Venom. Though it was based on the brand’s Bullet model, it was primarily intended for off-road and competition use.

Accordingly, it featured several notable differences, including a larger inlet port, an aluminum alloy barrel, a cast iron liner, and a higher 8.9:1 compression piston. Moreover, Royal Enfield offered the Fury with the option of lights, a rev counter, as well as an 18-inch rear wheel and a 19-inch front wheel.

These days, the Royal Enfield Fury is a rare sight — just 191 units were produced between 1959 and 1963. US imports are even more desirable, because the 500cc single was tuned to produce 40hp (up from 27hp in the UK market).

This example is Frame #: 16205 Engine #: 3426. The seller acquired it three years ago.

True mileage is unknown.

Maintenance:
The seller reports that this Fury was restored by Lauren Williams at Shell Motors in Los Angeles.
