The first start of this bike since 2016:
1966 was the first year of the Shovelhead motor, a powerplant that would last until 1984 when Harley introduced the Evolution. The “Electra Glide” name signified that this bike had an electric starter which was introduced only a year prior.

Cycle World was impressed with the Shovel FLH, saying “In its field – high-speed, long-distance touring – the Electra Glide is without equal…the Harley-Davidson 74 V-twin is one of the finest motorcycle engines ever built, not because it is revolutionary or unusual, but because it is the product of years of thoughtful, careful, conscientious development”.

This example is VIN: 68FLH12383. The seller acquired it in 2016 but did not title it in his name until 2020.

The odometer shows 30,528 miles. “I dont know that I ever rode it, except maybe when I first bought it. It was one of 3 genny-shovels that I owned from that time. I’d reckon less than 3 miles.”

“I bought this bike sometime around 2016 from a customer at Mckeever’s Motorcycle Shop in Emmaus, Pennsylvania. McKeevers was working on my own genny shovel at the time. This bike was restored in 2002 for that customer. I did not commission its restoration. I have receipts and documentation of this build, given to me by the customer. The chrome alone was nearly 4K. Restoration included a complete motor and transmission teardown, with all notes from build included. I do not have the final total.”

Maintenance:
“Nothing. Just records from its restoration which was done for the person that I got it from. I did nothing. The video shows its first start since I purchased and parked it back around 2016.”
Modifications:
“It’s blinged out with chrome!”

It is riding on Avon Venom-X tires with date codes of 4201 and 2102.

The sale includes 1 ignition key.
