Additional photos of this restored Honda CB750 are available here for your perusal.
Hindsight is a powerful thing – nowadays it’s obvious that the Honda CB750 was a tremendous sales success, but when Soichiro Honda introduced the machine to the world, his firm wasn’t sure how riders would react to such a large displacement motorcycle coming from Japan. Because of that, Honda utilized sandcast molds for the engine before it was clear that there would be enough demand to justify buying expensive metal molds. The first 7,414 bikes are known as sandcast CB750s for that reason, and they’re taken on special value with collectors.
Vic World has earned himself the nickname of “Mr. CB750” thanks to decades of expertise and restorations of sandcast motors.
The seller of this example (VIN: CB7501005223) purchased it from Vic World and has kept it in dry storage since.
This CB is offered with a California title. The sale includes the original owner’s manual, original workshop manual, a spare key, and an original can of touch up paint that has remained unopened since 1969!
It has zero miles since the work was completed.
We note some minor pitting on the rear fender, gas cap, mirror housings, and engine case as well as some rust on the front wheel but this CB presents very well. Please let us know if you require any additional photographs!
If you’re looking to be transported back to 1969 when Honda introduced this game-changing motorcycle, this CB750 is the perfect time travel machine.
