Description

Additional photos of this Honda CT70 are available here for your perusal.

In 1969, Honda released one of the most important motorcycles that would ever be sold in America – the Trail 70 (also known as the CT70). It was the first motorcycle for many of today’s riders, and nowadays it serves double duty as an excellent entrée into motorcycling as well as a lovely reminder of times gone by.

In the US, the CT70 was sold from 1969-1982, and again from 1991-1994. Very few changes were made over the years – the 1970 model got metal brake levers (instead of the plastic levers from the previous year) as well as fewer seat bolts. All years shared a 72cc OHC 4-stroke engine.

The seller of this example (VIN: CT70-268401) acquired it two years ago in restored condition from a private party in Murrieta, California.

The odometer shows 2,350 miles.

He specifically bought it for his grandson, but his father (the seller’s son) said no. “Two years later he still says no,” so it’s time for the bike to find a new home.

The seller has “ridden it around the block a few times” and estimates he’s covered ten miles with it.

The seller states that the sole modification are the mirrors.

Before the seller had us list it, we diagnosed an electrical issue with the lighting. We fixed a broken wire in the stator, replaced some fuses, installed a battery, and replaced the headlight and taillight bulbs. There are no known cosmetic or mechanical issues.

Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California (please make an appointment for an inspection), this Trail 70 is offered on a clean California title – please note that the registration expired in January of 2021.
