Description

Additional photos of this Triumph Tiger are available here for your perusal.

The “Tiger” name has been quite a popular one for Triumph, dating all the way back to the 30s. We know it now as an adventure bike that goes back to 1993, but back in 1970 the British firm bestowed the jungle cat nomenclature on the TR6. There were four variants of the TR6 lineup that year: TR6P (Police), TR6C (Competition/Street Scrambler), TR6 (Standard), and what we have for you today, the TR6R (Roadster).

The 649cc air-cooled parallel twin pushed 42 horsepower through a 4-speed transmission with a right-side shifter. This was the final year before Triumph went with the oil-in-frame design.

For additional information on the ’70 TR6, you should start your research with Classic British Motorcycles.

The VIN on the title of this example is based off the Engine # (BD40613).

The odometer shows 12,578 miles.

The seller (who has owned it for 4-5 years) states that it has a new throttle cable and runs great.

He notes that the tachometer squeaks while riding.

It is equipped with Dunlop Gold Seal K70 tires, which exhibit cracks in the sidewalls.

It also features a sticker from what we assume is the original dealership – Bill Krause Honda/Triumph/Yamaha.

As the paintwork is original, we note some chips in the tank.

There is general wear throughout, and the fork boots are no longer present. Please inspect the included photos in the album up top and don’t hesitate to let us know if there are any other images you require.

Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California, this Tiger is offered on a clean Oregon title.

A highly-original example of a classic Triumph, this Tiger is ready to ride. Have any TR6 stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the comments below!
