For 1970, the TR6 was offered in four forms: the standard TR6, road oriented TR6R, competition focused TR6C, and police specification TR6P. The TR6R was intended for everyday street and touring use, making it one of the more versatile iterations of Triumph’s classic 650.

1970 marked the culmination of Triumph’s pre oil in frame 650 development, with the TR6R benefiting from a number of refinements. The model featured a progressive dual leading shoe front brake, improved engine breathing, and SAE-thread fasteners for easier servicing. It was also the only year to receive removable front engine mounting plates, simplifying engine removal and installation.

This TR6R has been completely custom built into a hard-tail bobber, and aside from the engine, shares relatively little with it’s British namesake.
