Description

Additional photos are available here for your perusal.

Back in the 1960s and 1970s, Yamaha produced a range of small displacement trail bikes meant to cater to the burgeoning off-road market. Though many motorcyclists are familiar with the DT series, there were several others, too, such as the AT, the LT, and the HT like the one you see before you.

Powered by an air-cooled two-stroke 90cc single, the HT-1 made approximately 8.4hp and 6.5lb-ft of torque. Thanks to the bike’s svelte 187-pound curbweight, those numbers proved more than enough to enable some fun in the dirt. The HT-1’s specs also made it an attractive option for beginners — whether those new to motorcycling or those simply inexperienced off the beaten path.

Elsewhere, the HT-1 boasted a full array of equipment that included lighting, a mirror, and a horn. Per Yamaha’s museum entry, it was supposedly sold with a line of motocross kit parts aimed at getting riders into the sport.

This example is VIN: HT1215826. The seller acquired the bike three years ago from a private party in Temecula.

During his ownership, the seller has covered approximately 10 miles. The odometer shows 3,843 miles.

Maintenance:
In preparation for the listing, the seller had us clean and tune the carb, install a new battery, rebuild the petcock, replace the air filter, and install a new rear brake switch.

Yonni did the work, he notes the following in his condition report:

Modifications:

Inside of the tank:

It is riding on IRC Trail Sport tires that have aged out.

The sale includes two keys.

The sale also includes a new seat and cover, the original mirror, as well as a set of new engine case bolts.

Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album up top for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:
Per the seller, “the bike wears its original patina and shows very well for its age.”
