Description

Additional photos of this Moto Guzzi Ambassador are available here for your perusal.

The Moto Guzzi Ambassador was developed as a successor to the V7, which was initially built to provide a police platform in their home country of Italy. The Berliner brothers (the US importer) convinced MG to bring it to the US in an attempt to snag some cruiser customers away from Harley-Davidson.

The Ambassador (also called the V750) got some upgrades to target the US market, and Americans responded favorably – in 1971, Moto Guzzi set an internal record by producing over 46,400 examples.

For a lot of Americans, this was the start to their love affair with Moto Guzzi. The 757cc motor was good for 60 horsepower (10 more than the V7), and a nearly 6 gallon tank meant you could eat up miles without having to stop often. For more on the Ambassador, check out this story on Motorcycle Classics.

This example is VIN: 26130, Engine #: 26130. The seller acquired the bike three years ago through an online auction.

During his ownership, the seller has covered approximately 500 miles. The odometer shows 715 miles since its restoration.

Maintenance:
Per the seller: “The bike was meticulously restored by Moe Green at Cycle Works with over $30,000 invested. I have all receipts and before and after pictures.”

Additionally, he notes that “all fluids were changed recently.”

The seller has included some before/after photos to show the extent of the restoration work. You can find further evidence in the album.

Modifications:
The seller reports that the bike was upgraded with an “850 kit and a 5-speed transmission” as part of its restoration.

Cosmetic Blemishes:
According to the seller, there are no significant cosmetic blemishes to be noted.

Inside of the tank:

It is riding on Dunlop D404 tires from 2007.
