The Moto Guzzi Ambassador was developed as a successor to the V7, which was initially built to provide a police platform in their home country of Italy. The Berliner brothers (the US importer) convinced MG to bring it to the US in an attempt to snag some cruiser customers away from Harley-Davidson.

The Ambassador (also called the V750) got some upgrades to target the US market, and Americans responded favorably – in 1971, Moto Guzzi set an internal record by producing over 46,400 examples.

For a lot of Americans, this was the start to their love affair with Moto Guzzi. The 757cc motor was good for 60 horsepower (10 more than the V7), and a nearly 6 gallon tank meant you could eat up miles without having to stop often. For more on the Ambassador, check out this story on Motorcycle Classics.

This example is VIN: 25904. The seller purchased the bike from a private collector 10 years ago.

During his ownership the seller has covered approximately 1,200 miles. The odometer shows 49,805 miles.

Maintenance:
The seller states, “I have all the service records of work done since 1972. 800 miles since complete engine rebuild. Recent gearbox rebuild, complete fork rebuild including tubes and bushings, new steering damper, rear shocks recently replaced, all new petcocks, clutch serviced and restored to original. Everything has been gone through by Motto Guzzi Classics in Signal Hills, California. Easy 75mph highway cruise!”

Modifications:
The bike has many original parts which the owner would like to point out:
“Original paint, no accidents. Very rare gas tank unique original pinstripe pattern. Original seat. Original exhaust system.”

“Original Borrani wheels that came with stainless spokes and bronze end fittings.”

“Original Carello headlight with halogen bulb. No signals, turn signals were only legally required on 1973 model bikes or newer. Original vintage spot lights.”

Inside of the tank:

It is riding on Continental tires which have aged out.

The sale includes two keys, full ownership history, and extra parts.
