After growing the 250B into the 350B in 1968, MV Agusta looked into ways to expand the 350 lineup. In 1972, they introduced one of their rarest models: the 350 B Scrambler. It was designed primarily for the US market where the scrambler movement had become quite popular – MV followed the usual formula with high pipes, raised bars, a taller front fender, some engine protection, and dual-sport tires.

Just 217 were built between 1972 and 1973, though the model was sold through 1975.

By 1972, MV had given the base 350 model electronic ignition (“Elettronica”), and that’s the motor which was utilized in the Scrambler. The 348.9cc 4-stroke engine was rated for 27 horsepower at 7,600 rpm, and it sent that power through a 5-speed transmission and a chain final drive.

Top speed was claimed to be 90 miles per hour, and the rider could bring that number down with 200mm drum brakes front and rear.

This example is VIN: 21305793, Engine #: 21305700. The bike was sold in a 2019 Artcurial auction in Paris in 2019 to a collector in Washington state. The seller (our friends at Northwest European) acquired it from the collector in December 2022.

It comes with a Registration Certificate #499 from the MV Agusta Historical Registry.

The speedometer/odometer/tachometer are missing, true mileage is unknown. The seller has not ridden this bike.

Maintenance:
Per the seller: “the bike was sold as a static display bike in 2019. It has been in static storage since. Appears to be complete, but I have not attempted to start the bike. No idea when it was last run.” The seller adds that it “makes a lovely display bike in any office, collection, retail store, etc,” but it comes “out of multi-year storage, would need to be gone through to prepare for running again if desired.”

Modifications:
Per the Artcurial listing, this Scrambler appears to be completely original, except for the seat.

The tank appears to have been lined:

It is riding on Duro tires.

Cosmetic Blemishes:
In really nice shape for age, condition, and rarity.”
