Description
Additional photos of this Husqvarna 400 CR are available here for your perusal.
A truly iconic motorbike, the Husqvarna 400 CR (Cross) was made famous by Steve McQueen when he rode a 1970 model in the classic movie On Any Sunday. Husky’s red tanks (with polished panels to minimize marring from the rider’s pants) became the defining off-road livery for many riders and was a symbol for Husqvarna’s racing success.
The 400 CR is outfitted with a 395cc Husqvarna air cooled single cylinder two stroke motor that makes 40hp, paired with a left side kick start and a 5-speed transmission. The unit construction engine and expansion chamber were painted matte black to help dissipate heat.
This Husky (VIN: MK01863) has gone through a restoration, however details of the work are unknown.
It presents very well, and shows no signs of being ridden since the restoration.
It is currently equipped with modern Dunlop Geomax tires.
This Husqvarna is currently at our Santa Monica location – please let us know if you need additional photos or if you’d like to come by and inspect it in person.
The 400 CR is one of the most beautiful off-roaders of all time, and this one is ready for your collection.
