Description

Additional photos of this Honda CB400F are available here for your perusal.

The CB400F wasn’t as fast as its competition, but it was smoother, quieter, and more efficient. It also had some of the most beautiful production exhaust headers ever built, which are known by some as the “waterfall pipes” and are so iconic that Honda brought them back for the new CB650F!

Featuring a relatively rare-for-the-time six-speed transmission, the CB400F was styled somewhat like a cafe racer and had an engine that produced 37 horsepower. Weighing just over 400 pounds, a rider could knock off the quarter mile in about 14.1 seconds. It’s a basic, classic bike that would be just fine serving as a lovely daily rider. For more information, check out this story on Motorcyclist where they call it “the first real sportbike“.

This example is VIN: CB400F1047752, Engine #: CB400FE-1044839. The seller acquired it two years ago from a private owner.

During his ownership, the seller covered 500 miles. The odometer shows 10,450 kilometers (6,493 miles).

Modifications:
Per the seller, this CB400F is completely stock.

Cosmetic Blemishes:
Just very good patina for its age and mileage. The bike presents as an untouched original CB400.”

It is riding on Kenda tires.

The seller sums up his bike by saying, “this is a stock standard original and unrestored bike, with very low kilometers. It runs perfectly and has brought many a smile to me when riding it. These bikes rev so smoothly and are an absolute blessing to ride. So nimble and comfortable.”

Currently located in Johannesburg, South Africa, this Honda is offered on a clean South Africa title.
