Additional photos on this 1976 Honda CB550F Super Sport are available here for your perusal.
Built between 1974 and 1978, the Honda CB550 was “probably the best balanced Honda of the seventies,” according to this Silodrome recap. They go on to call it a “Goldilocks bike” as it fit in perfectly between the 400 and the 750 – the “CB550 was just right.”
It was offered in two versions, the K and the F. The K was the standard model, while the F was the “Super Sport.” In both platforms, the SOHC inline four cylinder engine was paired with a five speed transmission. The F differed with a simpler paint job, 4-into-1 exhaust, and lower bars.
For 1976, Honda offered the 550F in Flake Sapphire Blue and Shiny Orange.
