Embodying the true spirit of a bygone-era of sportbikes, the Z900 was Kawasaki’s answer to the growing market of inline-fours. Introduced in 1972, the Z900 saw itself pitted against the likes of Suzuki’s GS750 and Honda’s CB750, both high-revving performance-based motorcycles.
The Z900 powerplant was a standard DOHC designed 4-cylinder engine good for roughly 82 horsepower with a respectable redline of 9,000 RPM, offering a slightly peaky engine characteristic. With features such as dual disc front brakes, roomy ergonomics, and under-seat storage, the Z900 cemented itself as an iconic sportbike amongst some of the best motorcycles of the era.
