The obvious evolution of the KZ900, the Kawasaki KZ1000 was another straight line brute that got a heavier crankshaft along with the displacement bump. You could get the bike with chain or shaft drive, but either form could top 130 miles per hour.

For the 1979 model, Kawasaki claimed 93 horsepower and 65 foot-pounds of torque…but that’s irrelevant today as this bike features a custom turbocharging kit!

Manufactured in May 1978, this example is VIN: KZT00B514083. The seller acquired it 11 years ago from a private party.

During his ownership, the seller has covered about 100 miles. The odometer shows 17,536 miles.
