1980 Ducati Darmah 900 SD with Three Miles

After the classic 750GT of the 70s, Ducati looked to evolve with a simpler engine. They ended up with the first ‘square case’ bevel twin: the 860 GT.

Just a few years later, they released the much improved 900 SD Darmah – the 864cc engine was good for 61 horsepower and it was paired with a five-speed transmission. Claimed top speed was 115 miles per hour.

Ducati utilized some of the best components of the time – over the years they featured Brembo brakes, magnesium Speedline wheels, a dual seat with more padding, Bosch ignition, Silentium exhaust, standard electric start, and Marzocchi suspension.

Manufactured in June of 1979, this example is VIN: 950481, Engine #: 903969. The owner acquired it from a private party two years ago in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

He has not ridden it during his ownership, the bike has been on display in his office. The odometer shows 3 miles.

Maintenance:
No maintenance has been performed and the original lead seal is still intact.

The seller notes: “Front brake inoperative. Original battery installed, presumed dead. Never fueled or started. Pistons and crank turn freely by hand rotation of rear wheel.”

This example is stock.

It is riding on the original Pirelli Gordon tires.

It is missing the mirrors.

The sale includes six keys – two each for the ignition, fork lock, and tail compartment.
