Description

Additional photos of this 1981 Honda Express are available here for your perusal.

Honda first introduced the Express (NC50) in 1977 as a smaller, beginner-friendly option for those who were intimidated by larger, more powerful motorcycles. Built with a single-cylinder 49cc two-stroke engine, it employed a two-speed automatic transmission and an oil pump (thus eliminating the need for premix) to make ownership simple and maintenance fuss-free.

Up until 1980, the Express featured a manual choke, points ignition, and an innovative spring start system. To make the “noped” even more approachable, Honda updated the model in 1981 with an automatic choke, CDI, and a conventional kick start.

Though the little Honda topped out at just 30mph, it was good for an impressive 85-100mpg. After the oil crisis of the 1970s, this proved an attractive value proposition given the ludicrous gas prices.

This example is VIN: JH2AB0808BS421403. The seller has owned the bike for one year.
